The Yorktown Freedom Run will return for 2021! The race will again be an 8K race on the Yorktown Battlefield on Memorial Day, May 31, 2021. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, the 5K fun run is on hold. Registration and awards will be at York High School. The race flier is available by clicking here. You may sign up using the filer or through the Run Sign Up website by clicking here. The location is a very nice course mostly using the Battlefield Tour Road. You can see a map of the 2021 8K course at: Click here to see 8K map.
All runners will get a T-shirt; however, only those who register with a postmark by May 14th will be assured of getting the exact size they want.
There will be bottled water and plenty of refreshments after the race. Medals are given to runners in 26 categories and cash awards are given to the top three male and female runners in the Open and Master's categories.
The race commemorates Memorial Day and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom. The Freedom Run is operated by the Yorktown Rotary Club, and all proceeds go to the Yorktown Rotary Foundation to provide scholarships at local high schools and give support to a wide range of youth and community services as shown on the Community Service page.
