The 2018 Yorktown Freedom Run was again an 8K race on the Yorktown Battlefield. There was also a 5K fun run once again! Registration and awards were at York High School on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018. The race flier is available by clicking here. You may sign up using the filer or through the Run Sign Up website. The location is a very nice course mostly using the Battlefield Tour Road. You can see a map of the 2018 8K course at: Click here to see 8K map or you can see a map of the 2018 5K fun run course at: Click here to see 5K map.
All runners will get a T-shirt; however, only those who register with a postmark by May 10th will be assured of getting the exact size they want.
There will be bottled water and plenty of refreshments after the race. Medals are given to runners in 26 categories and cash awards are given to the top three male and female runners in the Open and Master's categories.
The race commemorates Memorial Day and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom. The Freedom Run is operated by the Yorktown Rotary Club, and all proceeds go to the Yorktown Rotary Foundation to provide scholarships at local high schools and give support to a wide range of youth and community services as shown on the Community Service page.
